Privacy Policy for Legal Answering Pro
This policy explains how we handle information about website visitors, customers and callers to customer businesses. Review the collection, sharing and retention details before using the service, and use fictional information if you try our public demo.

Who operates this service
TypeScience, trading as Legal Answering Pro, operates this website and the AI receptionist service. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you visit our website, try a demonstration, open an account or call a customer business using our service.
For service help, contact support@legalansweringpro.com. For privacy questions or requests concerning personal information, contact privacy@legalansweringpro.com. We do not publish a street address or provide a phone sales line.
Customers, visitors and callers
We handle information about customers who subscribe to the service and people who visit our website. Account administration, onboarding and website activity are described in the sections below. Demo conversations on this website are also collected as explained here.
When you call a customer business, that business decides what information its receptionist collects and why. We process caller information on the business's behalf to operate its intake and message handling. Data processing terms form part of our terms of service, and callers may direct requests to that business or to us.
Account and billing information
We collect account details such as your name, business name, email address and phone number. We use this information to administer your account, provide access to the service and communicate about your subscription or support request.
Our payment processor handles billing information for subscriptions and usage. We do not store full payment card numbers. Account and billing processing lets us administer the service the customer has chosen, separate from the information collected during calls to that customer's business.
Onboarding answers and business content
We collect the answers you give during onboarding and content from the business website you point us to. This information tells the receptionist about your services, hours, service area, fee policy, intake questions and urgent-call instructions. Settings you change in the service also direct how your receptionist handles calls.
We use this material to prepare and operate the receptionist for your business. Your firm decides what information it supplies and which facts the receptionist should request from callers. Legal questions and representation decisions remain with your attorneys rather than becoming answers supplied by the AI.
Call information and messages
We process caller numbers, call audio, recordings when enabled, transcripts and summaries. These records support the conversation, intake questions, urgency tagging, consultation booking or message taking that the customer has configured. Your receptionist identifies itself as a virtual assistant and gives the mandatory recording notice in the greeting.
Call information is made available to the customer through email and app push alerts and the dashboard, with a daily digest email. When recording is enabled, the call record includes the recording. Firms can choose no recording; that choice is separate from the retention of transcripts and summaries.
Calls, website and demo chats, recordings, transcripts and summaries of trial and customer accounts may be reviewed by authorized staff for quality, support and abuse prevention. Access is limited to those purposes; reviewers keep what they see confidential and use it only for those purposes.
Demo calls and chats
We record and transcribe demo calls and chats on this website to show the result of the demonstration. This lets you examine how the receptionist responds and how a conversation is presented after it ends. Use fictional names and matter details when trying the public demo.
A demonstration is separate from a call to a subscribing firm's business number. You can hear the receptionist before signing up, but the demonstration still involves voice or text processing and collection of the resulting conversation. Do not use the public demo to submit a private legal matter.
Website analytics and cookies
We use privacy-friendly analytics and Google Analytics to understand activity on our website. Google Analytics uses cookies. Website analytics information is used to understand how people use the site and its pages.
Analytics providers are among the service-provider categories described below. For questions about website information or an opt-out request, email privacy@legalansweringpro.com and identify the website activity or information you are asking about. This policy does not promise a particular analytics setting beyond the practices stated here.
Service providers and AI processing
We use providers for hosting and storage, telephone services, AI voice and text models, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. These providers process information for their respective roles in operating the website and receptionist service. For example, voice and text processing supports the call conversation and its transcript or summary.
The AI model provider, OpenAI, does not use our API data to train its models by default. This describes the training default for that API data, rather than an absence of processing. We maintain per-firm data isolation and do not name a storage country or region in this policy.
Use of caller information
We use caller information to provide the customer's receptionist, intake records and related service functions. The customer business determines its intake questions and the purpose of collecting callers' information. Its team reviews the records and decides how to respond to an inquiry or existing-client message.
We never sell personal information. We never use callers' data for our own marketing. If you have questions about why a firm requested a particular detail during intake, you can ask that firm or contact us through the privacy address below.
Retention and recording choices
Recordings are retained for the period the business chooses, either 30 or 90 days, and are then deleted. Firms may choose no recording at all. The mandatory greeting notices remain part of the receptionist's intake process.
Transcripts and summaries are kept while the account is open. They are deleted within 30 days after the account closes or on request. A recording retention choice concerns recordings; it does not replace the separate retention terms for transcripts and summaries. Contact privacy@legalansweringpro.com with a request relating to these records.
Access, correction, deletion and opt-out requests
You can request access to personal information, correction, deletion or an opt-out by emailing privacy@legalansweringpro.com. Describe the information involved and whether your request concerns a customer account, website activity, a demonstration or a call to a business. This helps identify which part of the service your request concerns.
Callers may make a request to the business they called or directly to us. For caller data, the customer business decides what is collected and why, and we process it on that business's behalf. We recognize California residents' rights where they apply, without presenting this policy as a determination about any person's legal rights.
Children and policy changes
The service is not for children under 13. Businesses should consider that restriction when deciding how they use the receptionist and which information they instruct it to request. Contact privacy@legalansweringpro.com with a concern about a child's information in the service.
Policy changes are dated on this page so you can see when the text was last updated. Review the service terms for the separate subscription and customer responsibilities.
