Answer sensitive family law calls while your team is occupied

Your AI receptionist answers forwarded calls when your team is in consultations, in court or away. It collects limited intake information using the questions your firm sets.

  • Sensitive intakeAsk for parties' names before collecting the details your firm needs.
  • Urgent routingSend protective order calls to the attorney designated by your firm.
  • Consult requestsOffer appointment booking or take contact details for your team's callback.

Your receptionist gives callers a way to reach your firm without asking them to recount an entire family dispute. You define the matters you handle, the intake questions to ask and the information an attorney needs for review. We use those instructions when answering as your firm.

A caller asking about divorce can request a consultation. Someone calling about a protective order follows your urgent routing instructions. The conversation gathers information for your team; an attorney decides whether the firm can act.

02

From parties' names to a consult or attorney transfer

The call starts with virtual assistant and recording notices, then parties' names. Your receptionist follows the firm's intake questions and routes the request according to urgency.

  • Clear openingIdentify the virtual assistant and give the recording notice before intake.
  • Names firstCollect names for your firm's conflict review before asking about the matter.
  • Appropriate handoffBook a consult, take a message or reach your on-call attorney.

The opening also explains that no attorney-client relationship is created by the call. It asks for the parties' names before the limited details you have approved, so your team can review potential conflicts. It does not make that determination itself.

For an urgent protective order matter, it can warm transfer to your on-call attorney. The attorney hears a short summary and presses 1 to accept. Routine consultation requests can be booked into Google Calendar, or captured as messages with the caller's contact details.

03

Set your intake questions and protective order routing

You control the family law matters accepted, the questions asked and the urgent contact order. Setup also establishes your consultation process and when calls forward to your receptionist.

  • Practice scopeTell us which family law matters your firm accepts or declines.
  • Attorney coverageSet the contact order for urgent transfers and pages to your team.
  • Call coverageForward all calls, unanswered calls, busy calls or calls outside office hours.

We learn your firm's services, hours and intake preferences through an onboarding chat and your website. Give your receptionist specific questions for a first consultation request, together with your urgent contact instructions. Your firm remains responsible for supervising the intake process and reviewing the messages.

You can change settings by telling the AI in plain words. Email and app push notifications include a call summary and urgency tag, with transcripts available in your dashboard. Use the setup walkthrough to plan forwarding and a test call.

04

Leave case advice and representation decisions to attorneys

Your receptionist collects intake information without advising callers on family law. It leaves legal deadlines, case assessments and decisions about representation to an attorney at your firm.

  • No legal adviceQuestions about custody, divorce rights or legal strategy go to attorneys.
  • No case acceptanceA booked consultation does not mean your firm has accepted representation.
  • No deadline answersRecord the caller's concern and leave timing advice to your attorney.

A caller may ask whether to seek a protective order or what a custody dispute means for them. Your receptionist does not assess their position or suggest a legal step. It uses the boundary: an attorney will review this and get back to you.

Urgency handling helps deliver the request to your designated attorney; it does not establish a legal deadline or promise an outcome. The AI can make mistakes, so your team reviews summaries and keeps a backup way to be reached. Fee information follows only the policy you supply.

Request a free trial; we'll email your sign-in link when your trial is ready. Then sign in through an email link and complete the onboarding chat. The trial will last 14 days with up to 100 minutes. A card is required before forwarding goes live, and a test call lets you check your setup.

Questions

Does the receptionist give advice about divorce or custody?

Your receptionist does not give legal advice or evaluate a family law case. It collects the limited information your firm requests and arranges a consultation or callback. Questions about custody rights, legal strategy or what a caller should do are left for an attorney to review.

Does it run a conflict check before family law intake?

It collects the parties' names before asking for matter details, giving your firm information for its conflict review. The AI does not decide whether a conflict exists or clear a caller for representation. Your attorney makes that decision before the firm proceeds with legal work.

Can a protective order call reach our on-call attorney?

You can designate protective order matters as urgent and specify the attorney contact order. Your receptionist can warm transfer the call or page your on-call person. During a warm transfer, the attorney hears a summary first and presses 1 to accept the caller.

Can it book family law consultations?

Your receptionist can book appointments into Google Calendar or take details for a callback if that suits your intake process. You supply the firm's consultation instructions during onboarding. Booking a time does not accept a case, complete an attorney's conflict review or create an attorney-client relationship.

Can family law callers speak Spanish?

The AI receptionist speaks English and Spanish, and callers can switch languages during the conversation. It follows the same firm instructions for names, limited intake and urgent routing in either language. You can try the Spanish-speaking scenario in the browser demo using fictional caller information.
